Destination Ghana
Anansi Travels (AT) is a culturally enriching program for gap-year and college students that are rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, or recent graduates.
Through immersive academic, cultural, and experiential learning in Ghana, participants deepen their understanding of African and diasporic history while developing global awareness, leadership skills, and lifelong personal growth.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Academics
Students can choose between The University of Ghana and Ashesi University, earning three college credits. Anansi Travels helps coordinate credit transfer with your home institution. Both universities offer enriching courses and a chance to engage with diverse academic communities while exploring Ghana.
Internships
Students gain hands-on experience through placements with host companies in Accra. Interns work 10 hours per week, applying their coursework to real-world projects in their field of interest while contributing meaningfully to the team.
Cultural Excursions
From the serene Aburi Botanical Gardens to the interactive Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farms and the historic Cape Coast Castle, students experience Ghana’s culture, history, and natural beauty firsthand. Each excursion is designed to educate, inspire, and provide lasting memories.
Seminars
Participants reflect on their experiences in interactive seminars, discussing insights, challenges, and lessons learned with peers. These sessions help students process their journey and connect their cultural, academic, and professional experiences.
